Conference Program

We are proud to invite you to Back to the Future: Core Technology and Beyond!, a two- day conference on July 10-11, 2008, at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, NY.  We anticipate over 250 conference attendees from throughout the Northeast!  Please join us!

Building on the highly successful 2006 EAP/MAP Conference at Stonybrook University, we are pleased to invite you to the 2008 EAP-MAP Regional Conference, developed by a coalition of Employee Assistance Practitioners to explore, affirm and advance the tradition of collaboration in the EAP-MAP field.

The conference has been designed to meet the diverse educational needs of professionals concerned with the health and well-being of working people and their families as well as assisting the organizations for whom they work.

Our goal is to create a context for the exchange of information and ideas at an affordable cost.  Accordingly, participants can earn up to 10.5 PDHs toward the CEAP as well as credits towards the CASAC credential.

Planned Content:

The conference will include two keynote speakers of national stature, a series of workshops, a luncheon and a closing summary session.  A dynamic group of speakers has recently been determined. Topics Include Cultural Sensitivity, Solution-Focused Interventions, Self-Harm and Eating Disorders, Autism, Trauma Intervention, Balancing Work and Eldercare, Compulsive Gambling and Ethics for the EA Professional

As part of the opening session, the conference will honor both an individual and an organizational contributor to the EAP/MAP field.  This years’ individual honoree will be Laverne Washington, who, for many years has been a dedicated EA professional.  This years’ organizational honoree is the New York State Employee Assistance Program.

There are several ways you can participate in the Conference:

Attendee:  Join your colleagues from throughout the Northeast for two full days!  Our last Conference, at Stonybrook University, received rave reviews from attendees for content, exhibits and networking opportunities!  Don’t miss it!
